On Tuesday evening, Tucker Carlson released new findings from his investigation into over 40,000 hours of footage from the January 6th Capitol Riot. His first batch of investigations, which aired on Monday, attempted to push back against the House Select Committee on the January 6th attack including the level of violence on that day, the story of Ray Epps, the treatment of the so-called QAnon Shaman, and much more.
For Carlson’s second investigation, he explained that given that the footage is video, Americans are able to draw whatever conclusions they like and argued that it is “beyond debate” for Americans to see the footage.
Carlson then went on to explain how Democrats, such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, have called the airing of the footage a threat to democracy, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer.
Tucker then assserted that Schumer wants to restrict the public’s access to the footage in order to maintain “the narrative.”
“It’s a threat to democracy, pull him off the air,” Tucker mocked, adding that you don’t often see the majority leader calling for censorship on the Senate floor which would go against the First Amendment.
Carlson stated the Democrat’s attacks on him are fueled by fear and panic because they are a threat to what “Schumer has been telling for the past 26 months.”
The Fox host also blasted Republicans like Tom Tillis, Mitt Romney, and Mitch McConnell who also attacked the host’s reporting with Tucker asking “What are they trying to protect?” Additionally, he said that “they are all on the same side.”
Carlson then went on to explain that Nancy Pelosi was not held responsible for the security failure present during the Capitol riot. Tucker explained that the Capitol Police were not prepared for what was going to happen and that the police officers did not know what to expect, despite intelligence that indicated that something violent could occur.
