‘We Need To Be On The Lookout For This’: Move Over Transgenderism, Transableism Is Just Around The Corner

Following the left’s tendency to want to identify as anything and everything they’re not, a new disturbing issue has arisen and gotten traction called “transableism”. Transableism moves to replace the previous “Body Integrity Identity Disorder,” or BIID, much the same way transgenderism replaced gender dysphoria. 

The idea behind the relabeling of BIID into transableism is to pursue the possibility of doctors being able to “treat” transabled people. Said treatment would involve doctors mutilating the patient’s body to fit the image inside of the patient’s head. This could include amputating a limb, severing the spinal cord, or even more utterly grotesque things, according to the National Library of Medicine.  

BIID is nothing new to the medical community, however, the changed look of the disease in today’s modern political climate is becoming a cause for concern. BIID as a disease is overall very uncommon. However, with the disorder being painted in a new light, it may attract new people into the fold.

Dr. Marc Siegel, a clinical professor of medicine and practicing internist at NYU Langone Medical Center in New York City spoke with Fox News and assured that doctors would “only perform procedures that they feel are medically indicated.”

An Arizona internist named Jane Orient went as far as calling today’s transableism a “delusional disorder,” stating that “transgender and transable persons suffer from a delusional disorder.”

Siegel brought up Munchausen syndrome when speaking to Fox, which is a psychological disorder that causes someone to fabricate or induce symptoms of an illness that they do not have, according to Cleveland Clinic. They say that Munchausen syndrome is typically done to garner attention or sympathy from people around the supposed “victim.”

Dr. Siegel said that “We deal with Munchausen and Munchausen by proxy, where patients can be quite convincing about illnesses they don’t have – and we need to be on the lookout for this.”

While transableism is something very new and still has a very small group of people behind it, it can easily grow into a problem much like what transgenderism has become. As the left has become more and more accepting of extreme ideas of life such as transgenderism, it’s not unreasonable to see transableism being next. 

It’s essential to nip this problem in the bud before it gets out of control in much the same way the transgender movement has. We can only hope that doctors won’t give in as easily as they did with transgenders.
