On Thursday, Harvard emeritus professor and legal expert Alan Dershowitz joined Fox News‘s ‘Mornings With Maria’ to discuss recent revelations that the Department of Justice has been meeting with Hunter Biden’s attorneys that could signal an indictment of the president’s son is coming.
“It was the Biden people who sought the meeting, which means they’re probably in a negotiating mode,” he explained, adding, “People don’t seek meetings just for a status report or an update, you can do that on the phone. When you bring in a group of lawyers to talk to people in the Justice Department, It’s generally part of a negotiation.”
“It would not surprise me if there were ultimately a resolution of this case short of a public indictment, some kind of information, and a plea bargain,” Dershowitz said on Thursday. “But that’s just speculation. But the meeting was sought by the Biden people, and that tells us something.”
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has revealed that at least nine Biden family members are involved in receiving money from Hunter’s activities with foreign businesses.
“Well right now we have nine but I believe in the end that number will be at least 12,” Comer revealed. “This was the Biden family influence peddling scheme. When people say ‘Well they were involved in ventures around the world.’ I haven’t found a legitimate business on the Biden end, Maria.”
“I found legitimate businesses that were paying, the LLCs that were then turning around and laundering the money back to the Bidens,” he explained. “But I haven’t found any legitimate business dealings on the Biden end.”
“It looks like if there were no legitimate business dealings with any of these LLCs, it was influence peddling,” Comer said. “If you want to get technical and you want a legal term, that’s called being a foreign agent. And I’m sure that the ethics laws would prevent immediate family members of high-ranking government officials from being foreign agents.”
Dershowitz explained that the difference in persecution between Donald Trump and the Biden family shows an increasing pattern of two systems of justice developing in America.
“It is not justice for anyone to campaign for prosecution office on the promise to get somebody and then to indict them,” Dershowitz said of District Attorney Alvin Bragg, adding that the judges are also biased against Trump.
“I’m a liberal Democrat who voted against Trump,” Dershowitz explained. “The hypocrisy of the academics and the media left is beyond even imagination, and there’s nobody out there defending civil liberties.”
“Not the American Civil Liberties Union, not the usual people in the academy, not The New York Times, not any of the liberal establishment,” the former Harvard professor explained. “And for me, as a liberal, as a person who just defended the rights of liberals for 60 years of my life, the idea that they’re now turning into McCarthyites… is so disappointing.”
Dershowitz is on to something. The two-tiered system of justice in America is taking shape and the difference in prosecution between Trump and Hunter Biden is glaring. Hopefully, Biden will face some consequences after profiting for years from his father’s name with his various foreign business transactions.
