'Would Have Never Happened': President Trump To Hold Remembrance Events In NYC, Florida On First Anniversary Of October 7 Terrorist Attack

On the first anniversary of the October 7 terrorist attack by Hamas that resulted in the murder of nearly 1,200 Israelis and 46 Americans, 45th President Donald Trump took time out of his presidential campaign to honor the Jewish community in New York and Florida.

President Trump will visit Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson's grave in New York City to honor the legacy of the leader of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement of Orthodox Judaism. The president will then head to one of his resorts in Doral, Florida, to hold a Remembrance Event for those who lost their lives on October 7. The events come as about a hundred people, including a handful of Americans, remain in captivity. In a statement, Trump campaign National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained that the brutal terrorist attack would not have occurred under President Trump's leadership and that he would "end the bloodshed" if he was given four more years in the White House.

"Today, President Trump will commemorate the one-year anniversary of October 7th with a visit to Ohel Chabad Lubavitch, the final resting place of Rabbi Schneerson in New York, and he will give remarks at an October 7th Remembrance Event in Florida," the Trump campaign spokeswoman said. "The atrocities, including the slaughtering and capturing of innocent Israelis and Americans, that took place on October 7th would have never happened if President Trump were still in the White House. For Americans and Israelis alike, it's imperative that President Trump is re-elected so he can end the bloodshed caused by an emboldened Iranian terrorist regime, which is stronger and richer today from the Harris-Biden Administration's incompetence and weak policies."

While President Trump attends events in two states, Vice President Kamala Harris will plant a pomegranate tree on the grounds of the Vice President's Residence at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C., to honor those who lost their lives a year ago. Harris' husband, Dough Emhoff, attended an event held by the American Jewish Committee while President Joe Biden had a memorial ceremony at the White House.

The first anniversary of the October 7 terrorist attack, the deadliest day in Israeli history, brought about a large regional war that has engulfed the region. The Israeli Defense Forces' invasion of the Gaza Strip has resulted in thousands of civilian and Hamas casualties, leading to mass protests worldwide as Israel attempts to wipe out the terrorist organization that launched the devastating surprise attack. After months of violent urban warfare, Iran's proxies in Yemen and Lebanon intervened and launched missile attacks against Israel, prompting the Israeli military to launch an operation into southern Lebanon earlier this month. The invasion prompted Iran to launch over 180 ballistic missiles toward Israel, setting the stage for a broader conflict.
