FBI Acknowledges Existence Of Document That Alleges Biden's Corrupt Pay-To-Play Bribery Scheme, Refuses To Turn It Over To Congress

Last week, the DC Enquirer reported that a whistleblower came forth with news that the FBI had in its possession a certain document detailing a pay-to-play scandal between then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national. Now, the FBI, while failing to produce the document despite a Congressional subpoena, acknowledged that the document does indeed exist, according to Just the News. As Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IO) put it, "While the FBI has failed to produce the specific document by the subpoena deadline, their offer to provide an accommodation process in response to our legitimate request indicates the document is real."

The senator from the Hawkeye State added that "So the question remains...what did the FBI do to investigate very serious allegations from an apparent trusted FBI source implicating then-Vice President Biden? Today's letter from the FBI raises additional questions, including whether the FBI has an open investigation based on these allegations. The American people pay the FBI's salaries, and they're entitled to a fulsome response."

The office of the Chairman of the Oversight Committee, James Comer (R-KY), emphasized that the document "details a bribery scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden and a foreign national." The FBI's response letter, declared Representative Comer's office, displays that "the unclassified record the Oversight Committee subpoenaed exists, but they are refusing to provide it to the committee...We've asked the FBI to not only provide this record, but to also inform us what it did to investigate these allegations. The FBI has failed to do both. The FBI's position is 'trust, but you aren’t allowed to verify.' That is unacceptable. We plan to follow up with the FBI and expect compliance with the subpoena."

Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) reacted to the FBI's response by stating, "There's a much larger story here...It doesn't surprise me that the FBI is not going to turn over all those documents, and sounds like they're willing to provide some measure of accommodation, I guess, I'm not going to hold my breath on that."

The response letter by the FBI said that "Consistent with that process, we anticipate the Committee may wish to discuss its need for the specific information you requested and we would be pleased to coordinate with your staff to discuss whether and how we can accommodate your request without violating our law enforcement and national security obligations." The letter also emphasized that "[t]his form [that Congress is seeing] is used by FBI agents to record unverified reporting from a confidential human source. Reporting by confidential human sources is one important form of highly sensitive law enforcement information upon which the FBI relies to develop leads, assess the credibility of potential evidence and sources, build investigations, and take action to enforce the criminal law or protect national security."

Chuck Grassley also took to Twitter to express his frustration with the lackluster FBI compliance with the Congressional subpoena. He wrote, "FBI spilled a lot of ink on need to protect identity of Confidential Human Sources (we didn’t ask for identity) when failing to comply w congressional subpoena Let’s see if those same rules apply to news media Will FBI stiff-arm congress + LEAK to friendly press to cover tracks??"

He also wrote that "FBI has provided FD 1023 forms to Congress in past. Whats different this time? Ongoing investigation? Political infection???"
