McCarthy Makes A MAJOR Announcement About The Impeachment Inquiry Into Joe Biden - 'The American People Deserve To Be Heard'

On Friday, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) gave an inside look into this thinking pertaining to the potential upcoming impeachment inquiry following various revelations related to President Biden's interactions with his son's various business deals.

“To open an impeachment inquiry is a serious matter, and House Republicans would not take it lightly or use it for political purposes. The American people deserve to be heard on this matter through their elected representatives,” McCarthy told Breitbart News. “That’s why, if we move forward with an impeachment inquiry, it would occur through a vote on the floor of the People’s House and not through a declaration by one person.”

McCarthy seemed to highlight that the Republican-led House would not be following the lead of the formerly Democrat-led House in 2019 when then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) proclaimed weeks in advance that they would be conducting the impeachment inquiry without a vote.

Political commentator Charlie Kirk added to the info, sharing that Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said that she believes that Republicans within the House possess enough votes to move forward with the inquiries. Kirk noted that if the inquiry vote succeeded this fall the Senate impeachment trial would be taking place by the summer of 2024, just before the election.

Earlier reports indicated that the inquiry could be coming in September, meaning that it is all but imminent that Biden would be facing down a vote, per the DC Enquirer. Countless Republicans like the aforementioned Greene such as Ken Buck (R-CA), Byron Donalds (R-FL), and others have been pushing for the inquiry to speed up while leadership seems to be taking a more measured approach.

"I'm more than willing & ready to vote for an impeachment inquiry,” Donalds wrote on Twitter. “We've done the work & it's time to pull it all together. If there's one real charge coming, it's RICO against Joe. DOJ has covered up Biden corruption but we're stepping up to show the truth to the American people."

Whether the inquiry will actually come forth is yet to be seen. It seems that so far the Republicans have been holding such a necessary step to take like a carrot on a stick before their constituents. The need to avoid political theater is understandable by McCarthy but there is just as much of a need to ensure that those who trample on American laws and values are held accountable.
