WATCH: Anti-Israel Protesters Shut Down The Golden Gate Bridge, Block Major Roadways Across America

On Monday, a group of anti-Israel protestors blocked the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fransisco and on Northbound I-880 in Oakland. The protest is part of a worldwide "economic blockade" to stand in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The first protest on 5th Avenue in Oakland was caused by several protestors moving barrels into the street and then chaining themselves together. Law enforcement responded to the scene and is working on cutting the chains and arresting the demonstrators.

About a dozen protestors also blocked off the southbound direction of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. The demonstrators are holding signs with the phrases "Stop the world for Gaza" and "End the siege on Gaza now!" The protest has created a severe traffic jam, and there is no indication of the timeline for when the demonstrators will be arrested.

The demonstrations in the progressive bastion are a part of the A15 protest, which is meant to be a worldwide economic blockade to raise awareness for Palestinians, stop US support for Israel, and advocate for an arms embargo. According to ABC 7 News, the Oakland Economic Blockade Against Palestinian Genocide has launched protests in 56 cities across the globe. The most high-profile protest in the United States took place in Chicago at O'Hare International Airport.
