A Dark Day – Whitmer Repeals Michigan Abortion Ban That Stood for Almost A Century

The radical leftist Governor of Michigan Gretchen Whitmer signed a bill into law Wednesday that strips away a 92-year-old law that following the overturn of Roe v. Wade protected unborn children by making assisting an abortion a felony offense punishable by four years in prison.

While signing the order that will allow at-will abortion in the state of Michigan to resume Whitmer called the act, “long overdue.”

She tweeted,

“Today, we are repealing Michigan’s extreme 1931 law that bans abortion and criminalized nurses and doctors for doing their jobs.  This is long overdue.

When Roe was overturned, a right afforded to Americans for nearly 50 years was stripped away. It horrified me to think that my daughters would have fewer rights than I did growing up. So, while other states were restricting access, we took steps to protect reproductive freedom.”

In a press conference shared by the Associated Press, Whitmer told the gathered reporters,

“So to all the women and girls and our allies in states that don’t value you or your rights, maybe you should come to Michigan.”

As reported by The Recount she told reporters, “If you don’t think abortion’s about the economy, you might not have a uterus,”

Whitmer has made it very clear: in a decision between money and taking innocent lives, she and her party have chosen the money.
