After Reportedly Being 'Furious' About Kamala At The Top Of The Ticket, The Obamas Endorse Vice President Harris

On Friday, former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama announced their endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris as she campaigns to take on 45th President Donald Trump in November. The Obamas were some of the last high-profile Democrats not yet to endorse the vice president, likely because the 44th president wanted to have a different candidate at the top of the ticket.

"Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend [Kamala Harris]," President Obama posted to X alongside a video. "We told her we think she'll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we're going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you'll join us."

In the attached video, Kamala, with a mic fastened to her jacket, answers the Obamas' call. "I can't have this phone call without saying to my girl Kamala, I am proud of you. This is going to be historic," Michelle Obama said.

"We called to say Michelle and I couldn't be prouder to endorse you and to do everything we can to get you through this election and into the Oval Office," the 44th president said. In response, Kamala expressed her gratitude for the Obamas' support and for their friendship over the years.

While the Obamas had to support the presumptive Democratic nominee, their underlying feelings about Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket are reportedly far different than what they show publicly. As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, President Obama was reportedly caught off guard by Joe Biden's endorsement of Harris to be the Democratic nominee after his withdrawal from the race. The 44th president believes that Harris won't be able to defeat Donald Trump in November, and he wanted to have another candidate, reportedly Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), be at the top of the ticket. Because of the last-minute move by Biden to back his vice president for the job, Obama is "furious," which explains "why he is not joining in the Democratic Party's support of Harris."

"Obama's very upset because he knows she can't win," a source close to the Biden family told The New York Post. "Obama knows she's just incompetent — the border czar who never visited the border, saying that all migrants should have health insurance. She cannot navigate the landmines that are ahead of her. When you are running for president, there are things you can and can't say."

The Democrat Party and the media have been relentless in attempting to reinvigorate Harris' image to the public by trying to tone down her progressive radicalism and separating her from the failed policies of the Biden administration. In particular, news outlets have begun to remove mentions of the vice president as Biden's "border czar" to attempt to prevent the American people from realizing that Harris was responsible for the crisis at the southern border.

The Obamas' endorsement is the final culmination of Vice President Harris' anointment as the Democrat Party's nominee. Any resemblance of a shortened primary has vanished, and the party bosses have chosen their candidate to take on Donald Trump in November.
