Alvin Bragg Gets Terrible News: Democrat New York City Councilman Will Testify Against Him

On Friday, House Republicans expanded their list of witnesses for an upcoming hearing held by the House Judiciary Committee that will investigate the impact of soft-on-crime policies by district attorneys, like Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg (D), on the citizens of New York City.

The “Victims of Violent Crime in Manhattan” hearing will take place on Monday thanks to Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) leading the effort following attention being brought to District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s lackluster enforcement of crime in the city after the indictment of 45th President Donald Trump.

Amongst the witnesses who will testify is Democrat Councilman Bob Holden who represents part of Queens. The councilman explained to Breitbart that he is testifying because he has issues with district attorneys in New York.

“I have an issue with some of the DAs in New York City, and certainly Bragg is one of them,” the New York City councilman told Breitbart. “I have an issue with soft-on-crime politicians and DAs, so, you know, I offered. I said, ‘Look, I have a view of this that’s different from my Democratic, or most of my Democratic colleagues, so I would say that obviously there’s issues why New York City is the way it is.”

“I remember the city turning around, and we had I think it’s 17 straight years of decline in crime until the bail reform, and then you couple that with DAs like Bragg and it’s a bad, bad recipe there,” Holden explained in reference to the downward decline of crime in the city that began under Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R).

“It’s not a coincidence that the stats are there,” he continued in reference to the growing problem of crime in the Big Apple stemming from financial difficulty. “That’s a definite reason. It’s in black and white. Just look at it.”

“The DAs were complaining they can’t meet the discovery part of bail reform, and, as a result, half of the felonies are being either dropped, dismissed, or they’re pleading down to misdemeanors because they can’t do what they’re supposed to do,” he added.

In addition to Holden joining the witness list, others will testify as well including three individuals who were victims of crime, the founder of Victims Rights NY Jennifer Harrison, and New York City Detectives’ Endowment Association President Paul DiGiacomo, Breitbart reported.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Bragg continues to divert his attention to the people he is supposed to serve in New York as he attempts political persecution of Donald Trump.

NEW BOMBSHELL EVIDENCE BLOWS UP ALVIN BRAGG’S CASE AGAINST TRUMP

As reported by The New York Post earlier this year, 172,852 felony crimes took place in 2022, making it the highest level of such crime in the city since at least 2006. In comparison, the number of felony crimes in the city in 2021 was 143,522, an increase of over 20 percent year-over-year. 2006, when the data was first recorded, saw 171,318 felony crimes.

Making matters worse is the hundreds of police officers who are resigning from NYPD in recent years.

According to a new report from The New York Post, a staggering 239 officers left the force in January and February, marking a 36 percent spike from the previous year’s numbers. Compared to 2021, resignations have seen a shocking 117 percent increase from the 110 officers who left the force that year.

The staggering loss of personnel is the worst in over 15 years when 250 officers left the force within the two first months of the year back in 2007. However, back then they weren’t leaving due to high crime, it was instead a contract dispute with city officials.

Thanks to the hearing, the people of New York City will get answers as to how enforcement policies created by left-leaning district attorneys are leading to rampant crime in the Big Apple.
