'Always Be Yourself Unless You Suck': Sen. Kennedy Demolishes Kamala Harris

Vice President Kamala Harris' June 30th appearance at the Essence Magazine, "Festival of Culture," and her shockingly disjointed attempt to define culture made her the subject of wide derision and ridicule over the first week of July. Truly though, the hammer fell hardest when wielded by Senator John Kennedy (R-LA).

As reported by The Daily Wire, Harris, attempting to give an explanation, fumbled the moment badly saying, "Well I think, culture is, is a reflection of our moment and our time. Right?"

“And, and, and present culture is the way we express how we’re feeling about the moment and, and we should always find times to express how we feel about the moment. That is a reflection of joy. ‘Cause you know … it comes in the morning.”

“We have to find ways to also express the way we feel about the moment in terms of just having language and, and, and a connection to how people are experiencing life,” she added. “And I think about it in that way, too.”

Kennedy was asked to comment on Harris' remarks during an appearance on Fox News on Friday which led the senator to respond in a pithy fashion that his former Judiciary Committee colleague is "struggling."

“She’s struggling for a couple of reasons,” He said. “Number one, she doesn’t appear to be prepared. Number two, no matter how well-prepared you are, you have to be able to express yourself. And with respect, I would say the vice president needs to work on being a little more articulate."

"Some might say that based on her performances that English is not her first, second, third, or even fourth language.”

Finally, he added in his patented drawl. "But number three, I think sound advice for anyone, politician or not, is always:

Be yourself unless you suck. If you suck, have enough self-awareness to know you suck, and try to do better."

Kennedy added, “And I just don’t get the impression that the vice president is – she’s not being herself. She’s trying to sound smart instead of just saying what she believes and saying it in a clear articulate manner that the average American who’s busy can understand.”

The senator from Louisiana, himself 71 years old, has become well-known for his scathing oratory and directness and frequently graces the studios of Fox, Newsmax, and many other conservative-leaning outlets.

Just one day before his comments about Harris, Kennedy was slamming the Biden administration and United States Attorney for Delaware David Weiss for covering up Hunter Biden's alleged crimes as previously reported by the DC Enquirer. He remarked bluntly, "The White House's story is that the President knew nothing about any of this. And I mean, this does not pass the smell test."
