The law firm America First Legal has filed a lawsuit in federal court alleging that private entities colluded with the government to target millions of American citizens in a mass censorship and surveillance campaign, according to Just the News. The lawsuit began by noting that they are challenging “probably the largest mass-surveillance and mass-censorship program in American history—the so-called 'Election Integrity Partnership' and 'Virality Project.' The lawsuit noted that the Election Integrity Partnership and Virality Project worked “closely with state and federal government officials. Defendants urge, pressure, and collude with social-media platforms to monitor and censor disfavored speakers and content.”
The non-profit law firm filed its lawsuit mainly on behalf of Jim Hoft, the founder and editor-in-chief of the news site The Gateway Pundit, and Jill Hines, co-director of the consumer and human rights organization Health Freedom Louisiana. Both individuals, the lawsuit alleged, have experienced and are continuing to experience “extensive censorship” and, in the case of Mr. Hoft, have been singled out by name for censorship by the Election Integrity Partnership’s reports.
America First Legal President Stephen Miller issued a statement about the lawsuit where he proudly proclaimed, “Today, America First Legal is striking at the heart of the censorship-industrial complex for our clients. We are filing a landmark class action lawsuit against the organizers and architects of an elaborate conspiracy to surveil and censor Americans to stop them from exercising their fundamental right to free speech. To silence, banish, and deprive them of the means to earn a living.”
“These nonprofit 'disinformation' organizations and the other defendants allegedly conspired with the government to deny Americans their inalienable rights, flagging content and creators for government entities so that those entities, in turn, would pressure platforms to remove that content or those creators," the head of AFL explained. "They created a regime of surveillance, censorship, and control fit for communist China.”
“Under the Orwellian guise of policing ‘mis’ and ‘disinformation,’ the organizations and entities we are suing today are responsible for radically eroding the rights and liberties upon which the survival of free society depends. We will fight to hold them liable in a court of law and seek full and complete justice for their victims," Miller concluded, adding, "America First Legal will continue to lead the charge to rescue America from tyranny.”
Stephen Miller also took to Twitter to relay that “America First Legal identified the key actors in a sophisticated conspiracy to surveil & censor Americans’ speech, including grave interference in the ‘20 election & extensive collaboration w/the Deep State. We filed a landmark class action suit.”
