AMERICANS FIRST: Trump Plans To Champion Michigan Autoworkers Instead Of Attending Second GOP Debate

According to a report released on Monday, leading 2024 presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump will be visiting Michigan on Sept. 27 to meet with and speak to over 500 autoworkers who are currently on strike instead of attending the second Republican presidential debate.

"Mr. Trump intends to speak to over 500 workers, with his campaign planning to fill the room with plumbers, pipe-fitters, electricians, as well as autoworkers, according to one of the Trump advisers familiar with the planning," the New York Times reports.

Trump has slammed President Joe Biden for damaging the car industry with green energy policies, telling NBC News’ Kristen Welker in a new interview released on Sunday, “The auto workers will not have any jobs because all of these cars are going to be made in China. The electric cars, automatically, are going to be made in China.”

“The auto workers are being sold down the river by their leadership, and their leadership should endorse Trump,” Trump added.

Meanwhile, other GOP contenders will be attending the debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California.

During his 2016 campaign, Trump campaigned as a fighter for the working class and often visited Rust Belt towns. In related news, the United Auto Workers and Detroit's carmakers have resumed talks to try and end the four-day strike.

Around 13,000 American auto workers have ceased the production of vehicles and have gone on strike after unsuccessful negotiations on higher pay, among other issues.

“I think he’s not doing a good job in representing his union because he’s not going to have a union in three years from now. Those jobs are all going to be gone because all of those electric cars are going to be made in China. That’s what’s happening,” Trump said of UAW President Shawn Fain during the NBC interview.

"All they’ve ever wanted is to compete fairly worldwide and get their fair share of the American dream. Donald Trump calls them great Americans and has always had their backs," a narrator says in a radio ad set to run on Tuesday in Detroit and Toledo, Ohio.

President Trump is once again keeping his promise to put America and the American worker first.

This comes after President Trump skipped Fox News’ first GOP presidential debate and instead chose to be interviewed by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson on X, formerly known as Twitter, which made history as the most-watched interview ever recorded.
