On Saturday, the daughter-in-law of 45th President Donald Trump, former television producer, the host of The Right View, and now singer Lara Trump’s new song “I Won’t Back Down” neared the top of Apple’s iTunes chart despite apparent censorship from Apple.
Lara’s song is a cover of Tom Petty’s 1989 song “I Won’t Back Down” and was released on Friday.
Lara Trump’s “I Won’t Back Down” skyrocketed to the top of the iTunes chart on Saturday at sixth place despite an apparent shadowban which rendered the song unsearchable.

The song beat many big-name singers including three Barbie movie songs - “Dance the Night” by singer Dua Lipa, “Barbie World (with Aqua)” by singers Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice, country singer Morgan Wallen’s “Thinkin’ Bout Me’, country singer Luke Combs’ “Fast Car,” and pop singer Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” “Anti-Hero,” and “Karma."
On Saturday, President Trump congratulated Lara Trump for her song’s success, writing in a post on his top-rated social media platform, Truth Social, “Congratulations, great song!”
On Sunday, Lara’s husband, President Trump’s son, Eric Trump, took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out the song’s censorship, writing, “Breaking: Apple appears to be viscously shadow-banning @LaraLeaTrump new song, which immediately upon release, was 31st on the iTunes charts.”
“Lara’s name, when typed in full, is hardly viable and can only be found below 'Fake News II.' The song itself is unsearchable,” Eric Trump added.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, Lara Trump said, "The song dropped at midnight, and then today I get all of these messages from people saying that they’re looking for my song on Apple Music and they can’t find it or it’s buried way down."
"When you search for I Won't Back Down on Apple Music, Lara's rendition of the song does not come up in the results," she added.
"I haven’t contacted Apple because I’m leaving that to my music producer, but it’s obvious to everyone what’s happening. My song doesn’t even come up as an option for [some] people," she continued.
