Amid Plummeting 43 Points Behind Trump, DeSantis Fires Over A Third Of His Campaign

Absentee Florida Governor and 2024 presidential candidate Ron DeSantis has reportedly fired over a third of his campaign staff as 45th President and leading 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump continues to expand his massive lead.

Over 38 people were fired from the DeSantis campaign across many departments.

"Following a top-to-bottom review of our organization, we have taken additional, aggressive steps to streamline operations and put Ron DeSantis in the strongest position to win this primary and defeat Joe Biden,” DeSantis campaign manager Generra Peck said.

“Gov. DeSantis is going to lead the Great American Comeback and we’re ready to hit the ground running as we head into an important month of the campaign," Peck added.

This comes after Trump trounced DeSantis in a recent Morning Consult 2024 Republican primary poll.

According to the poll, Trump came in first place with a whopping 59 percent, 43 points above DeSantis' minor 16 percent.

"This marks one of Trump’s largest advantages over his closest polling rival — and one of DeSantis’ lowest levels of support — since Morning Consult began tracking the primary race in early December," Morning Consult reported.

When Morning Consult began recording 2024 Republican primary poll data in December 2022, Trump received an impressive 49 percent, as opposed to DeSantis'30 percent.

Since then, DeSantis has lost nearly half of his support to Trump.

Trump, a man who’s no stranger to setting records, doubled his fundraising during the second quarter of 2023.

Trump’s joint fundraising committee raised over $35 million in the second quarter, almost double the $18.8 million they raised in the first quarter of 2023.

Trump’s fundraising has completely obliterated Florida'a absentee governor and now 2024 presidential candidate Ron DeSantis’ fundraising. The first 24 hours after DeSantis announced his run, he raised $8.2 million but has refused to reveal how much he has raised since.

Trump has two joint fundraising committees - Trump’s official campaign and his leadership political action committee, Save America. The campaign’s total filing will be released through the Federal Election Commission (FEC) later this month.
