Sophomore Lorelei Barrett, a biological male at Sherman Oaks Buckley School, qualified for the girls’ 1600m race. The Independent Council on Women’s Sports, a group advocating for protections against biological males in female sporting events, shared an interview with the biological male on their Twitter account.
Barrett claimed third place in the race, kicking another biological girl from the bronze position. Barrett was at one point leading the entire girls' race but ended up finishing in third place which qualified him for the state championship.Security removed women from the field seen holding signs in support of girls in the sectional meet. Many parents were completely unaware there was a boy competing in girls races. Others, were appreciative that they were there when they themselves felt silenced. @WomenAreReals… pic.twitter.com/Vd4MXN6RDp

This placement makes Barrett the second male to qualify for the girl's championship this year, following the lead of Athena Ryan, another biological male. Ryan, a junior at Sonoma Academy, claimed the silver spot on the podium for the 1600m run finals on Saturday, also qualifying him for the state championship.🏃2nd trans-identifying male, Lorelei Barrett is headed to the @CIFState CA track championships next weekend. Along with male Athena Ryan, he’s also qualified in the “Girls 1600m” race.

Protesters were seen holding signs that read “Protect Female Sports,” but many protesters were removed by security, according to The Lion. “They’re kicking us out because we care about women and girls,” one protester said on their removal.
Even the competitors were unhappy with the involvement of the biological male, with Branson High School senior Adeline Johnson staring down the biological male on the podium before giving an adamant thumbs down. The biological female would have placed in the top three if not for Ryan’s participation, which has now disqualified her from competing in the state championship.
“It’s heartbreaking to see what happens to these kids and how scared they are to even show the slightest bit of body language that might indicate that they aren’t happy with it,” one anonymous parent told The Daily Caller. “They’re, like, forced to celebrate it.”
Twitter users chimed into the injustice for the young girls robbed of their chance to compete. “Tell me again why girls must give up their sports to comfort a lazy boy’s inadequate training regimen?” one angry Twitter user wrote.

“This is a boy. This is not a girl. It is not rude to call him a boy as that is what he is. Its extremely rude for a boy to be given a spot on the team over a girl. A complete disgrace. This kids parents are depraved,” shared another user.
It’s sad to see young girls deprived of the integrity of their sport to appease the transgender mob's wishes. It’s even harder for these young girls in California, such a hyper-liberal state, to hope to have any chance of fighting against injustice. This is a boy. This is not a girl. It is not rude to call him a boy as that is what he is. Its extremely rude for a boy to be given a spot on the team over a girl. A complete disgrace. This kids parents are depraved
