Transgender sprinter Halba Diouf, who is a biological male that identifies as a woman, huffed and puffed following a decision from World Athletics that barred biological males from participating in competitions against biological women in the upcoming Summer 2024 Paris Olympics.
The decision was reached by the group earlier in March, stating, “Decisions are always difficult when they involve conflicting needs and rights between different groups, but we continue to take the view that we must maintain fairness for female athletes above all other considerations,” per a released statement.
The rule would block anyone who went through “male puberty” from participating in any events, meaning if a transgender individual did not get hormone blockers at a young age, they are barred from competing. The organization did indicate that it is not a permanent decision and may change it in the future.
Diouf had originally intended to participate in the Olympics to represent France in the 200 meters timed race. Diouf spoke with Reuters on his anger about the decision, stating “I cannot understand this decision as transgender women have always been allowed to compete if their testosterone levels were below a certain threshold.”
Diouf was originally born in Senegal but moved to France at a young age. Once reaching adulthood, Diouf began hormone therapy to change sex and was recognized as a woman by the French government in 2021. However, because he didn’t begin to transition until adulthood, he is ineligible.
Diouf whined, saying “The only safeguard transgender women have is their right to live as they wish and we are being refused that, we are being hounded… I feel marginalized because they are excluding me from competitions.”
Diouf's endocrinologist has also attempted to defend his participation, claiming “Her testosterone levels are currently below those found on average in women who were born as women,” and that Diouf “is a woman, from a physiological, hormonal and legal point of view.”
Despite the protest, so far World Athletics has yet to budge on their decision. The decision is likely to stand, as the organization has to consider not just Western ideals, but also other global ideals that aren’t as welcome to the LGBTQ agenda. It is completely unreasonable to force countries that don’t acknowledge and bow before the agenda to have their biological women beaten out by men who have castrated themselves.
The transgender community will continue to whine and cry about the injustice of the decision, but the largest injustice is forcing women to lose their competitions and rightful places on a podium to mentally ill men.
