BREAKING: Donald Trump Reacts To Ron DeSantis' Presidential Announcement

On Wednesday, 45th President Donald Trump reacted to the presidential announcement of Governor Ron DeSantis on his social media platform Truth Social.

"I’d like to personally congratulate 'Rob' DeSanctimonious on finally announcing that he will be entering the race for President of the United States," Trump wrote on Wednesday evening. "Hopefully he will get the full experience of being attacked by the Marxists, Communists, and Radical Left Lunatics of our Country, without which he will never know the kind of job he is doing."

"These Lowlifes & Misfits are far worse than the leaders of hostile foreign countries," he continued, adding, "They must be soundly defeated in order to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

The Florida governor will be hosting his official campaign kickoff at 6 pm EST on Twitter alongside a moderated Twitter Space with Elon Musk. While Musk is hosting the Twitter Space, he has explained that he has not endorsed DeSantis for president. Given Musk's large following of over 140 million, however, the Twitter Space will surely be an early boon to the DeSantis campaign.

Following the kickoff, the governor will appear on 'Fox News Tonight' at 8 pm EST, and over the weekend he will be meeting with donors in Miami before jetting off to Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

DeSantis will be the seventh mainstream candidate to enter the race for the GOP nomination with 45th President Donald Trump, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), former Governor Asa Hutchinson (R-AR), former California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.

DeSantis' busy week ahead will be an introduction to the national stage for the Flordia native. The governor has been slipping in the polls in recent months for the Republican primary nomination with 45th President Donald Trump showing double-digit leads as high as 35 points over his opponents.

President Trump has launched repeated attacks against Governor DeSantis in recent months in an attempt to weaken the governor's run against him for the Republican nomination. Trump's congratulations to the Florida governor for his entry into the race is a welcomed turn in the normal cutthroat politics of the day.
