'His Age Is An Issue': Hillary Clinton Takes A Stand On Joe Biden's 2024 Run

An earnest assessment of the most pre-eminent challenge the sitting Democrat President Joe Biden faces in 2024 came from an unexpected quarter Saturday. 2016 Democratic candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton of all people weighed in during the Financial Times Weekend Festival in Washington, D.C. The former Senator from New York told the audience that concerns over Biden's age are legitimate and that "people have every right to consider it."

According to Fox News, Clinton made her remarks when questioned about the 80-year-old President visibly stumbled in front of the cameras at the G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan.

Financial Times editor Edward Luce said, "There was that heart-stopping moment when he almost fell over coming down the stairs a day or two ago," according to Fox. "He didn't use a railing, and Jill wasn't there with him."

"Every time that happens, your heart is in your mouth because these things could be consequential. Is that a concern?" he asked Clinton.

A seventy-five-year-old woman herself whose myriad medical issues were regular news fodder on the campaign trail seven years ago, Clinton answered: "It's a concern for anyone. We've had presidents who had fallen before who were a lot younger, and people didn't go into heart palpitations."

"But his age is an issue, and people have every right to consider it," Clinton noted, according to Fox.

"But, you know, he has this great saying - and I think he's right - don't judge him for running against the Almighty but against the alternative." She then made a dubious claim, praising her fellow radical Democrat's record. "I am of the camp that I think he's determined to run; he has a good record that, three years ago, people would not have predicted would have gotten done."

Former Georgia State Representative and Republican Vernon Jones suggested in a tweet that Clinton herself might be angling in as a potential alternative to the aging, scandal-ridden president.

In spite of whatever ambitions she may or may not have, Clinton still voiced the party line and suggested Biden is electable in spite of recent poll performance to the contrary as reported by the DC Enquirer.

According to Conservative Brief, she added, "He doesn’t get the credit yet for what is happening out in the country in terms of jobs and growth and planning for the future with CHIPS and other stuff So, I obviously hope he stays very focused and able to compete in the election because I think he can be re-elected, and that’s what we should all hope for."
