On Friday, a report out from The New York Times revealed that leading Republican presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump has decided to skip the upcoming GOP debate on Wednesday to instead do an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.
The Times reports that President Trump has made up his mind over the past 24 hours about attending the debate in Milwaukee, according to insider sources.
Trump has been fickle over the past few months as to whether he would attend the first Republican debate hosted by the Republican National Committee. The biggest sign that he would refuse to participate is the fact that he did not sign the RNC's loyalty pledge that was a prerequisite for participation in the presidential forum.
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Trump took to Truth Social Thursday evening to discuss his participation in the debate, writing, "Many people are asking whether or not I will be doing the DEBATES? ALL AMERICANS have been clamoring for a President of extremely High Intelligence. As everyone is aware, my Poll numbers, over a 'wonderful' field of Republican candidates, are extraordinary. In fact, I am leading the runner up, whoever that may now be, by more than 50 Points. Reagan didn’t do it, and neither did others. People know my Record, one of the BEST EVER, so why would I Debate? I’M YOUR MAN. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
While the interview with Tucker Carlson has yet to be finalized, it will likely bring a tremendous to 'Tucker on Twitter' as well as lessen the viewership of the Republican debate featuring the other candidates who have qualified.
Both RNC leadership and Fox News executives have attempted to lobby President Trump to participate in the debates, well knowing that he would bring tremendous ratings to the network. It appears that their efforts, however, were in vain as Carlson solidifies his dominance of the conservative media landscape.

I think president Trump made a great decision, I mean if presisdent Trump decided to go there all that would do his shoot up fox's ratings for the night, and why, all they would do is throw buckets of fabiricated bull shit at the president. America is tired of that bull shit, the biden's government is been doing that for well over 8 years. Everywhere president Trump goes to do rallys and town hall events he continues to tell american people what he will do to fix this quagmire of shit biden put us in. President Trump did great the first time, and the american people want our freedom back! american people want our country back. And there is no better qualified person to do that then president Trump, because he knows where the bodys are, and he knows where the shots are comming from.
