BREAKING: Georgia Lawmaker Introduces Articles Of Impeachment Against Fani Willis

On Friday, Georgia State Representative Charlice Byrd (R) introduced articles of impeachment against Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis after the prosecutor has come under intense scrutiny following allegations of an improper and potentially corrupt relationship with Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade.

Byrd wrote in the announcement of the introduction of the impeachment articles that Willis, who brought charges against 45th President Donald Trump and 18 others last year, has been using her office for political gain rather than for the enforcement of the law.

"Fani Willis has a laundry list of potential conflicts that make her unworthy and unfit to be the District Attorney in Fulton County," Rep. Byrd said. "Someone elected to that office is expected to uphold the law and not weaponize their office for political gain. Since Day One when she was elected, Fani Willis has embarrassed the criminal justice system in Fulton County and our state."

Making matters worse for the district attorney is the recent revelations of an improper relationship with Nathan Wade, who is also working on the case against Donald Trump. As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Nathan Wade's estranged wife, Joycelyn Wade, submitted a document to the Cobb County courthouse showing that the special prosecutor had paid for plane tickets for Fani Willis and himself to San Fransisco and Miami. The submission of the document comes after former Trump aid Michael Roman's lawyer Ashleigh Merchant filed a motion arguing that the duo prosecuting Trump were engaged in a romantic relationship that led to Willis paying him an exorbitant salary to then spend on lavish vacations.

Given these accusations, the Georgia State Senate voted 30-19 to establish a committee to investigate Willis' behavior with Nathan Wade.
