BREAKING: Jim Jordan Reveals That Multiple FBI Offices Targeted Catholics In Sweeping Investigations, FBI Director Lied Under Oath

On Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee released a letter showing that a document previously subpoenaed by Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH) proves that the FBI Richmond Field Office worked with numerous different offices to target traditional Catholics as domestic terrorists.

This isn’t the first time that the House Judiciary Committee has investigated into anti-Catholic bigotry in the FBI, previously getting ahold of a different document that proved at least one undercover agent was going into Catholic churches to spy on American citizens, per the DC Enquirer. At that time, the committee immediately called upon FBI Director Christopher Wray to end the outrageous anti-Catholic practices and provide more materials for the investigation.

Wray later testified on July 12th, 2023, saying that the practice was limited to only a single office, but the new information revealed today proves otherwise. Per the press release, “both the FBI Portland and FBI Los Angeles field offices were involved in or contributed to the creation of FBI’s assessment of traditional Catholics as potential domestic terrorists.”

The committee sent a letter to Wray to inform him of his department's wrongdoings and continuing investigation, writing, “The Committee on the Judiciary is continuing to conduct oversight of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) assessment of traditional Catholics as potential domestic terrorists. From information recently produced to the Committee, we now know that the FBI relied on information from around the country—including a liaison contact in the FBI’s Portland Field Office and reporting from the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office—to develop its assessment. This new information suggests that the FBI’s use of its law enforcement capabilities to intrude on Americans' First Amendment rights is more widespread than initially suspected and reveals inconsistencies with your previous testimony before the Committee. Given this startling new information, we write to request additional information to advance our oversight.”

The letter informs Wray that “On July 25, 2023, the FBI produced a version of the Richmond document with fewer redactions than the two previous versions it had produced,” which proves that the FBI anti-Catholic investigation was not limited to a single office.

“This revelation raises the question of why you redacted this information in previous versions of the document you produced to the Committee, and it reinforces the Committee’s need for all FBI material responsive to the April 10 subpoena, including the production of FBI’s Richmond document without redactions,” the letter continues. “We look forward to receiving a briefing on the FBI’s internal review of this matter and to interviewing the Special Agent in Charge of the Richmond Field Office. However, we again reiterate our outstanding requests, including our request to conduct a transcribed interview with the Chief Division Counsel who approved the Richmond document.”

The letter finishes by asking Wray to provide the House Judiciary Committee with all documents and communications related to their investigation by no later than August 22.

The story is still ongoing and will thus be updated accordingly.
