BREAKING: Manifesto Of Covenant Mass Shooter Will Be Released To The Public

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) announced that they will be releasing the manifesto of the Covenant mass shooter.

According to WKRN, Metro police spokesman Don Aaron said that the documents are more journals than a manifesto: “While the word manifesto was used on the first day, we have since referred to these as writings or journals.”

The spokesman explained that the documents are in the “close review/preparation process for the public release of written material.”

“The investigation has progressed to the point where the Covenant shooter’s writings are now being reviewed for public release,” MNPD’s Public Information Office told WZTV. “This process is currently underway and will take some time.”

Tennessee legislators and various commentators have called for the release of the documents to the public in order to better understand the motivation behind the deadly shooting at the Christian elementary school last month.

The massacre led to the death of three nine-year-old children and three elderly staff members who have been identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, nine, Hallie Scruggs, 9, William Kinney, 9, Cynthia Peak, 61, Katherine Koonce, 60, and Mike Hill, 61.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the shooter sent messages to a former middle school friend named Averianna Patton, as reported by News Channel 5.

“So basically that post I made on here about you, that was basically a suicide note,” the shooter, identified as Audrey Hale, wrote. “I’m planning to die today. THIS IS NOT A JOKE!!!!”

“You’ll probably hear about me on the news after I die,” the shooter wrote, adding, “This is my last goodbye. I love you. See you again in another life. Audrey (Aiden).”

In response, Patton replied 15 minutes before the shooting took place: “Audrey! You have so much to more in life to live. I pray God keeps and covers you.”

Following this, the female shooter sent a number of disturbing messages including that she needed to die and that he family didn’t know what she was about to do.

“One day this will make more sense,” the shooter wrote. “I’ve left behind more than enough evidence behind. But something bad is about to happen.”

“After phone calls from friends and Audrey’s name was released as the shooter at Covenant Nashville school, I learned that Audrey was the shooter and that she had reached out to me prior to the shooting,” Patton said after she heard the news to Channel 5. “My heart is with all of the families affected and I’m devastated by what has happened.”

The shooter was taken down by Officer Rex Engelbert, a four-year MNPD veteran, and Officer Michael Collazo, a nine-year MNPD veteran.

Hopefully, the release of the shooter’s manifesto will provide much-needed answers to the families who lost their loved ones.
