BREAKING: Marjorie Taylor Greene Files Articles Of Impeachment Against Alejandro Mayorkas

On Wednesday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) once again filed articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas after her first effort to remove the embattled secretary failed. Greene took to the House floor to explain that Mayorkas committed "high crimes and misdemeanors" while serving in the office meant to secure and protect the homeland. 

Greene is reportedly willing to repeatedly force a vote on articles of impeachment against Mayorkas until it passes the House, with CNN's Melanie Zanona reporting, "MTG tells me she is gonna KEEP doing this over & over until it succeeds. She did not give Speaker Johnson a heads-up."

"I just reintroduced articles of impeachment against DHS Secretary Mayorkas! While some members, like Tom McClintock, want to bloviate endlessly while imagining themselves wearing a powdered wig, the American people want action," Greene wrote on X/Twitter. "These members whine about “due process” while protecting Mayorkas from facing accountability for his violation of our border security laws. Impeachment IS due process. It would put Mayorkas in front of the Senate to face trial. We’ve seen the evidence of him breaking the law. It’s time for the Senate to try him for it. Today, I reintroduced my articles of impeachment against Secretary Mayorkas because impeachment is EXACTLY what the founders intended for the House to do when a member of the executive branch intentionally violates the laws written by the legislative branch."

The Georgia lawmaker introduced the legislation over Mayorkas' unwillingness to secure the southern border and his allowance of millions of illegal immigrants to enter the United States. Greene initially filed the first batch of impeachment articles earlier this month after two residents of her district tragically died in a car crash with an illegal immigrant smuggler in Texas.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, eight people, including two Americans, were tragically killed in a head-on collision in Batesville, Texas, on Wednesday after a smuggler of illegal immigrants crashed into an SUV driven by two Americans. According to CBS Austin, the incident occurred around 6:30 AM on Highway 57 between La Pryor and Batesville.

At the time of the crash, Zavala County Sheriff's deputies were in pursuit of the smuggler when they passed an 18-wheeler and crashed directly into an SUV driven by two Georgia residents. Upon impact, the vehicle burst into flames, leading to the death of the four migrants from Honduras and the smuggler.
