On Monday morning, Sen Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) made an announcement about her political future in the United States Senate.
The 73-year-old Warren made clear that she would be running, yet again, for a third term as the senator from Massachusetts.
Warren posted a campaign ad announcing the launch of her campaign, writing on Twitter, “We’ve won some big victories for working families in Massachusetts and across the country, but there’s a lot more to do. So today I’m making it official: I’m running for re-election to keep up the fight.”
Throughout the campaign ad, residents of Massachusetts advertised Warren’s ‘accomplishments’ including being able to afford hearing aids, canceling student debt, electric school buses in Boston, infrastructure projects throughout the state, and holding corporations and billionaires accountable.
Notable endorsements made throughout the ad include fellow Senator Ed Markey (D-MA) and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA).
“I first ran for the Senate because I saw how the system is rigged for the rich and the powerful and against everyone else,” Warren said in the ad. “And I won because Massachusetts voters know it too.”

“And now I’m running for Senate again because there’s a lot more we’ve got to do,” she explained, adding a laundry list of Democrat Party priorities. “Pass a wealth tax. Make childcare affordable. Protect our coastal communities. And build a 21st-century transportation system across all of Massachusetts.”
“Oh and as I’ve been saying for years, put stricter rules on banks so they don’t crash and hurt working people,” she said with footage of lines outside of Silicon Valley Bank which collapsed earlier this month.
“We know it won’t be easy. We’ve seen the powerful forces against us and how extreme Republicans are,” Warren continued. “But the last 10 years have taught us that when we organize, when we hold those in power accountable when we fight righteous fights, then we can make positive change. That’s why I’m running for Senate, are you with us?”
Warren has repeatedly shown that she is one of the most left-leaning members of the Senate. Given that she is from one of the most progressive states in the country that is no surprise. She is likely to win her reelection in 2024 thus continuing to be a thorn in the side of Republicans at least until 2030.
