On Sunday night, members of Antifa descended upon a police training facility, nicknamed “Cop City,” which resulted in violent clashes between the police and the Antifa members.
Video of the incident shows multiple construction vehicles and buildings lit aflame as smoke engulfs the area.
Following the incident, the Atlanta Police Department announced that they had detained 35 “agitators” and charged 23 of them with domestic terrorism, as reported by Fox5.
Authorities say that scores of agitators left the South River Music Festival on Sunday evening and headed to the site in black clothing, indicating that the attack on the facility was coordinated.
“This was a very violent attack that occurred, this evening very violent attack,” said Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum. “Actions such as this will not be tolerated. When you attack law enforcement officers, when you damage equipment – you are breaking the law.”
As police attempted to counteract the terrorists, they were faced with rocks, fireworks, and Molotov cocktails being thrown at them with the police chief describing it as a “coordinated, criminal attack against officers.”
Police are expecting to see incidents such as these in the coming days given that the Antifa groups have promised a “week of action” targeted at the police training facility.
“With protests planned for the coming days, the Atlanta Police Department, in collaboration with law enforcement partners, have a multi-layered strategy that includes reaction and arrest,” APD released in a statement. “The Atlanta Police Department asks for this week’s protests to remain peaceful.”

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Atlanta has been plagued by Antifa for months as the downtown has burned on multiple occasions and the terrorists have targeted the police training facility, particularly after a police shooting led to the death of one member of the organization.
“My message is simple to those who seek to continue this type of criminal behavior: We will find you and we will arrest you and you will be held accountable,” Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said when his city was terrorized in late January. “We have arrested several of them this evening, and Chief Schierbaum will give you the details on that. Many of them don’t even live in Atlanta or in the state of Georgia and they don’t represent the voices of Atlantans.”
As Antifa continues to organize large-scale attacks against police, incidents like these showcase the necessity for a strong police force based on law and order policies.
You know Biden himself would be on television today, holding a special press conference to warn the nation against violent ultra-Maga Republican extremists if a group on the right pulled anything like this. https://t.co/O3jctkOTP4
