On Friday, Christian actor Kirk Cameron hosted a story hour outside of a New York City library that refused to allow him entry, according to Cameron’s publisher.
Cameron sought to bring a message of faith to children with his book “As You Grow” which he has read to hundreds of children around the country.
His publisher, Brave Books, however, told Fox News Digital that he was refused entry by over 20 New York City libraries.
“Rather than complain about bad things going on in the world I wake up in the morning saying how can I be part of the solution,” Cameron explained to Fox outside the library, adding, “Freedom is a rare and precious gift and we need to hold onto it.”
While Brave Books claims that the library refused to offer them space, the library refuted that claim, saying that indoor space was offered on Monday.
“They chose a location at one of our Bronx branches and asked us how much it cost,” the library claimed. “We responded with the price on Monday and held the space in anticipation. But that was the last we heard from Brave.”
“Anyone saying we did not offer them space is trying to get publicity at our expense and not speaking the truth,” they added.
Kirk Cameron has used these story hours to fight back against the infamous drag queen story hours that have taken place across the country, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer.
“If we want to see the future look like the kind of place we grew up in, or our grandparents grew up in, we need to start investing and planting seeds today that will grow into these future trees of liberty and blessing for our kids,” Cameron said in a recent interview.
He zeroed in on the phenomenon of so-called ‘drag queen story hours’ adding, “One of the ways we do that is by being the ones who tell them these stories, not allowing cross-dressing men to tell our children stories that lead our kids in a different direction.”
“There’s a lot at stake,” he added regarding the spread of ‘woke’ ideology, “and I want to do everything I can in the time I’ve been given to uproot as much evil that I’m able to.”
Thanks to Kirk Cameron’s efforts, he has been able to reach hundreds, if not thousands, of children across the country while inspiring others to follow suit.
