On Thursday, Jeremy Wayne Tate, CEO of the Classical Learning Test (CLT), announced his intentions for the future of his company on Twitter, saying the company's end goal is to 'replace' the woke 'College Board' -- one of the most potent forces in education today.
As the Fordham Institute previously reported, the CLT labels itself a "classical alternative to the ACT and SAT." Rooted in the Great Tradition, the CLT uses source materials ranging from Plato to Susan B. Anthony -- trumping the narrow corpus of the ACT and SAT. Resultantly, the CLT has recently gained significant momentum, with Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) signing legislation into law allowing students who take the CLT to qualify for the state's "Bright Future Scholarship." It is truly a good time to be on the right side of history, at least in those states that value those eternal truths upon which our nation was founded.
Reflecting on these wins, CEO Jeremy Wayne Tate tweeted, "We did not start this in order to be a niche classical alternative to The College Board. We started this to replace The College Board. Our team is relentless. Any one of our employees has more fire than 100 folks over at the College Board. We will reclaim education rooted in truth, goodness, and beauty."
The College Board oversees the SATs and Advanced Placement (AP) tests and has long been criticized for its association with woke causes. Earlier this year, Governor DeSantis was engaged in a high-profile battle with the College Board over alleged CRT themes in the AP African-American Studies Course curriculum. But this is just the tip of the iceberg regarding the College Board. With more and more Americans waking up to wokeness, action is necessary, now more than ever.We did not start this in order to be a niche classical alternative to The College Board.

In a recent video posted to Twitter, Tate argued the College Board was "the most powerful entity in American education.' He asserted the College Board has been ideological for the last twenty years or so -- to the point where students were asked to read Bernie Sanders. The CLT, however, invites students to explore the works of Plato, Aristotle, and John Locke -- alongside many other thinkers vital to our nation's founding. Tate concluded by saying that a renewed appreciation for the great works solves our nation's civics problem.
In conclusion, Tate is at the forefront of a new movement to save the West. Even before the advent of wokeness, Americans had suffered at the hands of a flawed education system that ignored large swaths of our past. But fortunately, patriots all over our country are waking up and embracing their unique place in the history of the world by standing on the shoulders of those giants of ages past. The College Board is the most powerful entity in American education and they push a type of education that is at odds with the classical education that 100% of America’s founders received. pic.twitter.com/5JqNVjADD9
