Don Jr. Demands Senate GOP Leadership That Voted For More Ukraine Funding Be Replaced

On Tuesday, leading 2024 presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., took to X and demanded all Senate GOP leadership that stood with Democrats by voting to pass a bill that contains $61 billion to continue funding the Ukraine war be replaced. "Only 2 members of Senate GOP Leadership opposed the Ukraine First funding bill- @SteveDaines & @barrassoforwyo. The rest of GOP Leadership stood with DEMOCRATS to send billions more to Ukraine- @LeaderMcConnell, @SenJohnThune, @SenCapito & @joniernst. They need to be replaced," Trump Jr wrote.

22 Senate Republicans joined Democrats and voted to pass the bill, including Sens. John Boozman (R-AR), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Susan Collins (R-ME), John Cornyn (R-TX), Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Mike Crapo (R-ID), Joni Ernst (R-IA), Chuck Grassley (R-IA), John Hoeven (R-ND), John Kennedy (R-LA), Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Jerry Moran (R-KS), Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), James Risch (R-ID), Mitt Romney (R-UT), Mike Rounds (R-SD), Dan Sullivan (R-AK), John Thune (R-SD), Thom Tillis (R-NC), Roger Wicker (R-MS), and Todd Young (R-IN), as reported by Breitbart.

Before the bill's failure, President Trump took to his top-rated social media platform, Truth Social, to slam the Ukraine funding bill, writing, "Only a fool, or a Radical Left Democrat, would vote for this horrendous Border Bill, which only gives Shutdown Authority after 5000 Encounters a day, when we already have the right to CLOSE THE BORDER NOW, which must be done. This Bill is a great gift to the Democrats, and a Death Wish for The Republican Party. It takes the HORRIBLE JOB the Democrats have done on Immigration and the Border, absolves them, and puts it all squarely on the shoulders of Republicans. Don't be STUPID!!! We need a separate Border and Immigration Bill. It should not be tied to foreign aid in any way, shape, or form! The Democrats broke Immigration and the Border. They should fix it. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

House Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters on Tuesday he has no plans of placing the Ukraine funding bill on the House floor, saying, "I certainly don't right now. We're dealing with the appropriations process. We have immediate deadlines upon us, and that's where the attention in the House is in this moment." White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre joined in the conversation on Wednesday and slammed Republicans who are refusing to back the Ukraine funding bill as "siding with Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Tehran." "Just over a week ago, Congressional Republicans killed the toughest, fairest bipartisan border security deal in a generation," she said at a joint press briefing.

"They cited Donald Trump's concern that the deal would be effective and undermine his political position as their reason for opposing it. Faced with the choice of joining President Biden and the Border Patrol union to secure our border, congressional Republicans instead sided with Donald Trump, fentanyl traffickers, and smugglers. Stop what you're doing. Put our national security first," she added.
