On Friday, a new poll released by Fox News shows leading Republican presidential contender and 45th President Donald J. Trump with a sizable lead over his Republican competition, as the Republican primaries inch ever closer.
The poll, which covers the period from September 9th through September 12th, finds the 45th president with 60 percent of Republican support in a hypothetical Republican primary matchup. That is actually a seven-point improvement from the already impressive 53 percent number Trump possessed in Fox News's last survey in August. The poll also showed Florida governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) remaining a distant second, with 13 percent of the vote. This is down from the 16 percent DeSantis boasted in August.
DeSantis, long considered Trump's most potent Republican competition, has yet to generate any real traction in the contest for the Republican nomination. In fact, following close behind DeSantis is anti-woke businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, who managed to grab 11 percent of voter support, which is consistent with his August numbers. No other candidate manages to draw more than 5 percent of voter support. All in all, these numbers demonstrate what we already knew -- the race for the Republican nomination is Donald Trump's to lose.
After all, even with recent indictments, Trump has managed to be a unifying figure for Republicans, and voters are rallying around the 45th president in record numbers. As such, Trump is in as strong of a position with Republican voters as ever. Trump is still the decisive leader in the Republican field, and he and his campaign show no signs of slipping up. The MAGA movement is thriving, and Republican voters continue to appreciate Trump's America First vision for the nation at large. If other Republicans want to bridge the gap between them and Trump, they must change their strategy big league.
More impressively, Trump remains a potent force to win the presidency in 2024. The Real Clear Politics polling average has Biden and Trump neck and neck in most surveys. Donald Trump has even managed to take the lead away from Joe Biden in recent polls. As such, it stands to reason that the radical, far-left Democrats would use any means necessary to gain a much-needed political advantage -- including indicting their most likely political opponent.
Trump's dominance is impressive indeed. Patriots all over the nation must rally behind the eventual Republican nominee, as Conservatives all over the nation try to undo the damage caused by the Biden Administration.
