Donald Trump DESTROYS Ron DeSantis In Miami-Dade Republican Straw Poll

On Thursday, POLITICO reported that 45th President Donald J. Trump dominated Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) in another Republican straw poll. Even worse for DeSantis is that the survey was conducted in the governor's home state of Florida, where he has been historically popular, winning his last gubernatorial election by nearly 20 points.

"Donald Trump trounced Ron DeSantis in the Florida governor's home state. Again. Miami-Dade County Republicans overwhelmingly chose Trump over DeSantis to be their presidential nominee in a straw poll the party's executive committee held this week. Of 65 party members who met in Miami Wednesday night, 53 votes went for Trump. Only five voted for DeSantis," POLITICO reports. These numbers spell bad news for the DeSantis campaign, which has maintained a largely stagnant level of support since the governor's campaign launched in May. As such, the poll indicates what we already knew -- the Republican primary race is Trump's to lose. Trump's agenda and popularity in Florida are not dying, and it may be possible for Trump to build on the big league numbers he bested Biden by in the 2020 election in the Sunshine State. Supposing these numbers are even close to being representative of Florida Republicans at large, this is excellent news for Team Trump in their quest to lay hold on the Republican nomination for a third straight election.

The 82 percent support that Trump maintained, per POLITICO, with Miami-Dade Republicans is not unprecedented. After all, even with recent indictments, Trump has managed to be a unifying figure for Republicans, and voters are rallying around the 45th president in record numbers. As such, Trump is in as strong of a position with Republican voters as ever. Indeed, Trump remains a potent force to win the presidency in 2024. The Real Clear Politics polling average has Trump besting Biden in nationwide polling in recent months, and this is despite the fact that Republican presidential candidates can generally afford to underperform in the popular vote while still winning the election - as they did in 2000 and 2016. As such, it stands to reason that the radical, far-left Democrats would use any means necessary to gain a much-needed political advantage - including indicting their most likely political opponent.

Trump's dominance is impressive indeed. Patriots all over the nation must rally behind the eventual Republican nominee as conservatives try to undo the damage caused by the Biden administration and the radical liberal agenda they have imposed on our country.
