Leading Republican presidential contender and 45th President Donald J. Trump scored a major endorsement on Tuesday, this time from Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR). This endorsement only solidifies Trump's grasp of the 2024 Republican presidential nomination and will further cement his lead in the primaries. After all, Trump's ULTRA-MAGA agenda is still broadly popular with his Republican base and, as has been increasingly apparent in recent polling, is more popular than Biden's America Last set of policies.
Cotton endorsed the 45th president on X/Twitter: "When Donald Trump was president, America was safe, strong, and prosperous. The economy was booming, working-class wages were growing, our border was secure, and our enemies feared us. With Joe Biden as president, everything has gone to hell: families can't afford groceries, our border is wide open to a full-blown invasion, and our enemies are starting wars everywhere. I endorse President Trump and I look forward to working with him to win back the White House and the Senate so we can help hardworking Arkansans suffering from Joe Biden's disastrous policies."
Cotton concluded by saying, "It's time to get our country back on track." This comes after House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) endorsed Trump's 2024 bid for the White House. As the DC Enquirer previously reported, Scalise tweeted, "I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for president in 2024, and I look forward to working with President Trump and a Republican House and Senate to fight for those families who are struggling under the weight of Biden's failed policies."
Fortunately for Scalise and Cotton, Trump has a great chance of winning in the year ahead. Trump has managed to be a unifying figure for Republicans, and voters are rallying around the 45th president in record numbers. As such, Trump is in as strong of a position with Republican voters as ever, and his general election numbers are also impressive. The Real Clear Politics polling average has Trump besting Biden in nationwide polling in recent weeks, even though Republicans can generally afford to underperform in the popular vote while still winning the election -- as they did in 2000 and 2016. As such, 2024 could be an excellent year for the MAGA movement and, as such, an excellent year for the people of our nation, who are being crushed under the weight of Bidenomics and Biden's radical open border agenda. We, the people of this nation, demand better.
