On Sunday, New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) brought forth yet another catastrophic idea to the table, but this time one aimed at overwhelming the entirety of America rather than just his poorly run sanctuary city.
Adams appeared on CBS’s ‘Face The Nation’ where he put forth the ingenious idea that rather than just burdening major metropolitan cities with the influx of migrants, the federal government should have a system that directs them to other towns and cities throughout the nation.
“We have 108,000 cities, villages, towns,” when discussing his ideas on where the federal government should be sending the illegal immigrants. “If everyone takes a small portion of that, and if it’s coordinated at the border, to ensure that those who are coming here to this country in a lawful manner are actually moved throughout the entire country, it is not a burden on one city.”
The Big Apple mayor seems entirely unaware that, unlike his hyper-liberal city that has happily declared itself a sanctuary for these illegals crossing the border, those other 100,000+ plus towns and cities have not. Rather than Adams being willing to admit that the open border causes a problem that cannot be contained, he’s deflecting all he can to save the image of the Democratic Party’s ignorant and flawed ideals.
Adams has already attempted this idea by busing migrants into New York City suburbs despite going against the wishes of those in charge in the smaller cities, per the DC Enquirer. His plan has done little to nothing to alleviate the concrete jungle, instead overwhelming the smaller towns that have been forced to house the immense number of migrants.
When host Margaret Brennan asked Adams about this plan, the mayor said that he believes “the entire state should participate in the decompression strategy, and it’s unfortunate that there has- there have been some lawmakers and counties that are not carrying on their role of ensuring that this is a decompression strategy throughout the state.”
The mayor of the City of Dreams went on further to whine about the situation that has been brought by the Democrats, saying how New York City has taken in over 70,000 migrants and is still caring for roughly 42,000 of those. Adams complained that the $30 million sent by the federal government wasn’t enough to deal with the “national problem” that New York City is facing, calling the situation “unfair to the city of New York.”
It is amazing to see the hoops that the Democrats have to jump through to justify the open border policy, forcing it upon others who don’t want it, rather than ever just admitting it’s bad practice. New York City can easily fix the entire problem by revoking its status as a sanctuary city and putting its citizens first, but the liberals and the Adams administration would rather watch the entire city fall into ruin than admit their flawed ideology.
