'Pray For Our Nation': Franklin Graham Defends Trump In Powerful Facebook Post

On Wednesday, Evangelist Franklin Graham defended 45th President and leading Republican presidential contender Donald Trump, after Trump was found liable for defamation and battery in a New York civil court -- a verdict Trump calls a 'disgrace.'

Graham took to Facebook, posting, "It is disappointing that our legal system has become so politicized. The former president is being accused of something 30 years ago, and reports say that his accuser can’t recall the month or the year. This civil trial with a price tag in the millions seems to be nothing more than ANOTHER attempt to tarnish the former president, plant doubts, and destroy his ability to run for office again. His enemies will stop at nothing. Pray for our nation. We need God’s help."

Graham linked an article from Fox News Digital that detailed Trump's response to the verdict. In that article, Trump said, "This verdict is a disgrace... It is a continuation of the greatest political witch hunt in history."

"We'll appeal. We got treated very badly by the Clinton-appointed judge. And [Carroll] is a Clinton person, too," Trump added.

This is not the first time Franklin Graham has defended President Trump. Weighing in on Alvin Bragg's sham indictment of Donald Trump in March, Graham posted, "It’s a shameful day for America as former President Donald J. Trump was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury. The Democrats have weaponized the legal system for their political gain while ignoring the current Administration’s faults and deficiencies. There’s only One who can save this country, and that is God and God alone. Why should He even hear our prayers when we have turned our back on Him? But I’m going to keep praying that God will intervene and save this nation so we will continue to be that beacon of hope for this very dark world."

He is exactly right. The political witchhunt against President Trump is disgraceful. But at the end of the day, Americans must place their hope in the Almighty -- not for temporal goods or pleasures, for those are fleeting. America must turn to Christ, His Person, and His work, for the forgiveness of sins won by His atoning work on the cross and His resurrection from the dead.
