Thousands Are Baptized As 50th Anniversary Of Jesus Movement Revival Brings Massive Crowds

The Jesus Revolution took place in the '70s on Pentecost Sunday in Southern California and was celebrated this year in the popular film 'Jesus Revolution'. This movement, similar to other great revivals, captured the hearts of many and was eventually made into a popular movie this year, just in time for its 50th anniversary.

The movie documents the life of a young man in California who is lost and unsure about his life until he comes into contact with the leader of the growing movement. There his life is transformed, and he is baptized into the Christian faith along with many other young adults, according to the film.

According to Breitbartthe rendition of the Jesus Movement that took place this year included over 280 Christian churches and counted around 8,000 people in attendance. The event took place in Pirates Cove and inspired many.

"It seems everyone has something to say about the church, everyone has something to say about California. Headline after headline continues to expose the division and the fear that is seemingly ravaged our world. But God has something to say about California and His church. He's not done with either, and neither are we," the organizers said in a promotional video for the gathering.

Christine Caine, a popular evangelist and author of many Christian books including Undaunted, Unashamed, and Unshakable, commented on the event on Twitter as one of the 8,000 in attendance.

In her Twitter comment, Caine explained that around 4,000 of the 8,000 in attendance were baptized. She described the event as "moving," noting the number of baptisms. "So moving watching over 4000 people be baptized at “Baptize SoCal” this Pentecost Sunday."
While many unfortunate things seem to take place on a regular basis, movements and gatherings like Baptize SoCal are working to lift up the American people and restore Christian values in a time of economic hardship, divisions, and concerning anti-Christian cultural trends.
