On Sunday, NBC News released a report indicating Hillary Rodham Clinton will play a significant role in Joe Biden's 2024 presidential campaign. The news comes after the former first lady and controversial secretary of state lost to Donald Trump in the 2016 election - losing several 'blue wall' states that Democrats had won in nearly every recent election. Since Trump is running for the White House again, it is unclear why the Democrats are leaning so heavily on a candidate who failed to connect with the American people nearly eight years ago. Then again, with Joe Biden at the helm, the Democrats have limited options - Biden's unpopularity with the American people is fairly fixed.
"Clinton is popular with women and key parts of the Democratic base and remains a fundraising draw who can help ensure Biden has the money to get his message out. There is still a two-for-the-price-of-one theme when it comes to her family: Husband Bill Clinton made a cameo at the fundraising event at their Washington home," NBC News reports. The report also indicated that she is filling a post in Biden's campaign that will later be filled by former President Barack Obama - who at least has a record of winning big against his opponents.
"At the end of the day, Biden needs all the help that he can get ... What he needs is both the spirit and the actual reality of unity," a Democrat strategist added. While unity is a good strategy, Hillary Clinton's rhetoric is out of step with the Democrat mainstream. After all, Democrats have recently been ardent defenders of the safety and security of our elections. At the same time, Hillary Rodham Clinton remains an election denier after losing big league to Donald J. Trump in the electoral college.
"He knows he's an illegitimate president ... I believe he understands that the many varying tactics they used, from voter suppression and voter purging to hacking to the false stories — he knows that — there were just a bunch of different reasons why the election turned out like it did." Hillary said in 2019, during an appearance on CBS's 'Sunday Morning.' With Trump posed to win big again, it is baffling that the Democrats are riding so heavily on someone with such a baffling flair for conspiracy. But the Democrats are desperate. In fact, the Real Clear Politics polling average has Donald Trump besting Joe Biden in nationwide polling in recent months, and this is despite the fact that Republican presidential candidates can generally afford to underperform in the popular vote while still winning the election - as they did in 2000 and 2016. The MAGA agenda remains popular, and we, the people, are here for it.
