An illegal immigrant from Honduras pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Iowa last month after being released into the country by the Biden administration in 2022. The crime is just the most recent story of Americans suffering from violent migrants who were released into the country under President Joe Biden's open border policies.
The man, 18-year-old Junior Manuel Dubon Benitez, was arrested by Iowa police earlier this year after sexually assaulting a young girl at her residence in Waterloo, Iowa. The authorities charged Dubon Benitez with second-degree sexual abuse, but he took a plea deal for third-degree sexual abuse. He pleaded guilty at the Iowa District Court for Black Hawk County on May 14, according to The Washington Examiner.
The migrant, who faces up to 10 years in prison, will be sentenced in the coming weeks by Judge Melissa Anderson-Seeber. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have issued a detainer for Dubon Benitez to ensure that he is deported after serving his sentence. The case is just the latest example of violent crime being committed by illegal migrants allowed into the country by the Biden administration.
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Trump highlighted the recent arrest of an El Salvadorian fugitive, Victor Martinez-Hernandez, who allegedly murdered and raped Rachel Morin, a 23-year-old Maryland mother, in August when she went for a walk on a nature trail about 20 miles outside of Baltimore. Morin's alleged killer, who was apprehended by authorities in Tulsa, Oklahoma, over the weekend, crossed the border illegally in February 2023.
Fox News reporter Bill Melugin also highlighted the growing problem of migrant crime, writing on X, "Headlines since weekend: Salvadoran illegal alien charged w/ rape & murder of Rachel Morin. Entered as gotaway last year. Ecuadorian illegal alien charged w/ rape & kidnapping of 13-year-old girl in NYC. Caught & released in 2021. Two Venezuelan illegal aliens charged w/ murdering 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston. Both caught and released at the border this year."
President Biden's unwillingness to end the mayhem on the southern border is having deadly consequences for Americans nationwide. Illegal migrants, all of whom have already committed a crime upon entering the country, do not have a right to violate America's laws and endanger its citizens. Voters will remember the Biden administration's lack of action in November. Illegal immigration is one of the most pressing priorities for Americans in the upcoming election and preventable crime will only fuel that concern further.
