On Monday, Fox News host Tucker Carlson released his results from a lengthy questionnaire that he sent to each declared and potential Republican candidate both on his show and on his official Twitter account. The Twitter thread garnered millions of views by giving unprecedented insight into how the 2024 GOP field would handle the war in Ukraine and American support of it.
That thread, however, has seemingly disappeared as of Wednesday morning. The disparity was first noticed by Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) Deputy Press Secretary Jeremy Redfern who wrote, “Hey, [Elon Musk]… Why is [Tucker Carlson]’s main account banned from the search results, and why are the answers to his questions about Ukraine being censored?”

Musk has yet to respond to Redfern, but this is yet another instance in which Twitter has silenced conservative voices after Elon Musk took over the company in October 2022
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) had his account suspended with Twitter justifying the suspension of a sitting Republican senator as violating its “graphic violence” policy because of a hunting photo used as Daines’ profile picture.
The account was “temporarily unavailable because it violates the Twitter Media Policy.” More specifically, the image violated Twitter’s “graphic violence or adult content in profile images” policy.
TUCKER QUESTIONED EACH REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE ON UKRAINE – HERE’S WHAT THEY SAID
However, after pushback from other Republicans and Twitter users, Elon Musk personally stepped in to fix the problem. Hopefully, Musk is willing to step in yet again to take action due to the high-profile nature of Carlson’s thread and the potential ramifications of having such critical information censored.
This is particularly important given recent calls from Democrat leadership to have Tucker censored for his recent airing of the January 6th footage.
Last week, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) took to the Senate floor to call on the suppression of Carlson’s investigation into the events of the Capitol Riot.
“And he’s going to come back tonight with another segment. Fox News should tell him not to. Fox News, Rupert Murdoch tell Tucker Carlson not to run a second segment of lies,” he demanded. “You know it’s a lie, you’ve admitted it’s a lie. Speaker McCarthy is every bit as culpable as Mr. Carlson. Speaker McCarthy’s decision to share security footage with Fox looked like a mistake from the very beginning. But after last night, it looks like a disaster. Speaker McCarthy has played a treacherous game by catering to the hard right. He’s enabled the Big Lie and has further eroded away our precious democracy.”
With such a high-profile figure having key information censored on his official Twitter, it is important to Twitter’s reputation that Musk take swift action. This is likely either a mistake or potentially a rogue employee wanting to censor Carlson, however, with calls for censorship already out in the public, this doesn’t look good for Musk’s Twitter.
