Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) has demanded that Hillary Clinton be prosecuted following the revelations in the recent Durham report that showed wiretapping and framing of then-presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The recent report released by U.S. Special Counsel John Durham showed widespread corruption in the investigation of Donald Trump during his campaign, going as far as saying the investigation never had the right to begin in the first place, as previously reported on by the DC Enquirer.
“People need to be prosecuted for this,” Sen. Hawley said in a Fox News interview. “The Clinton campaign and Hillary Clinton herself. Is there any coincidence that she is tweeting about collusion at exactly the same time her campaign operatives are feeding this B.S. to the FBI? I don’t think so. There needs to be consequences for her and also the FBI.”
Hawley was extremely tough on the FBI, claiming it “needs to be broken up as we know it.” The FBI and the Department of Justice have received major pushback from conservative voices for their massive mishandling. Many are calling the FBI a weapon of the Democratic Party. “This leadership has become totally and radically politicized, and we’ve got to change it,” Sen. Hawley said on the current affairs of the FBI.
Hawley was asked by Jesse Watters whether or not Republicans will investigate Clinton's affairs if Republicans are elected into the White House, or if instead they will play fair and make no retaliation. Hawley responded saying, “No, we’ve got to get justice here, and justice needs to be served. You can’t interfere in a presidential election without consequences, at least you used to not be able to in America.”Sen. Hawley said that the Democrat Party attempted to rig the presidential election and all but succeeded in the end.
Sen. Hawley was then asked for his thoughts on Obama denying having any knowledge of Operation ‘Crossfire Hurricane’ despite having been briefed on the entire investigation.
“It just is one more example of the Democrats and frankly the political class of Washington saying anything they want, any lie they want, to try to maintain their power. He knew, he knew, Obama knew, that Hillary was trying to frame Trump essentially," Hawley said.
Watters and Hawley discussed how Obama attempted to act as though he had no involvement in the affairs of the Justice Department and the FBI despite it being under his administration. Watters compared Obama to acting as though he had no connection to his administration like Joe Biden pretending he has no ties to the Biden family affairs.
Watters finished off with a big question, on whether or not the FBI and the CIA are more powerful than “American democracy.” Hawley answered “I think that we definitely are in that danger zone. No, I think there’s no doubt about it and that’s why we’ve got to change the FBI. It cannot go on like this.”
It’s clear the Department of Justice and the FBI have gone further than they should have or should be able to. Major changes will need to be done to both to protect future elections from manipulation like we saw in 2016.
