JUST IN: The Texas Senate Race Has Now Been Called

On Tuesday night, Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) secured a reelection victory over Democratic challenger Congressman Collin Allred (D-TX). This closely watched Senate race was characterized by significant spending from both campaigns, with CBS Austin labeling it one of the most expensive races of the 2024 Senate campaign season. While the final vote count is still being finalized, Cruz's victory is clear and decisive. As a result, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and other outlets, including Fox News, have projected the race in favor of Senator Cruz.

The campaign highlighted a stark contrast between Allred's progressive ideology and Cruz's America First conservative agenda. This difference resonated with voters in the Lone Star State, leading them to reject Allred's radical agenda, which does not characterize the hearts and minds of Texans. Overall, Cruz's reelection victory is a positive sign for the MAGA movement and suggests a strengthening of this movement in Texas moving forward.
