LOCK HIM UP: IRS Consultant Who Leaked Trump’s Tax Returns Arrested, Faces Five Years In Prison

Last Friday, a consultant for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) was charged with leaking leading 2024 presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump’s private tax information to the news media. He is facing up to five years in prison.

The IRS consultant, 38-year-old Charles Littlejohn from Washington, D.C., stole IRS files while working as a government contractor and leaked the information to two news organizations, ProPublica and the New York Times, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Friday.

“The government has a fundamental obligation to protect the confidentiality of Americans’ sensitive information, whether it be tax records or healthcare records,” the judge fund manager suing the IRS, Ken Griffin, said.

The court documents say the leak included private tax information about President Trump, who the document refers to as “Public Official A.”

Littlejohn wasn’t indicted and charges were filed against him as “criminal information” instead. He leaked the private tax information of President Trump and many other high-profile, wealthy individuals two years ago and is now finally facing the law.

“Any disclosure of taxpayer information is unacceptable,” IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel said in Friday’s statement.

“The IRS has put in place new protocols and protections that tightened security, and our aggressive work in this critical area continues in order to protect the tax and financial information of taxpayers,” Werfel added.

“While many questions remain, at the very least, IRS guardrails failed to prevent this brazen breach of taxpayer rights,” top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID), said.

“It goes without saying that resolving these and other ongoing security issues at the IRS, as well as identifying and making whole the individuals impacted by this breach, must be the IRS’s highest priority,” Crapo added.

This is just yet another example of the government unfairly and illegally targeting President Trump.

On Wednesday, Newsweek published an exclusive article revealing the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has categorized supporters of President Donald Trump as “domestic terrorists” and has been tracking them.

The FBI faces a problem - the constitutional right of all Americans, including Trump supporters, to protest the government, speak freely, and campaign.

Newsweek’s William M. Arkin reported, “The federal government believes that the threat of violence and major civil disturbances around the 2024 U.S. presidential election is so great that it has quietly created a new category of extremists that it seeks to track and counter: Donald Trump's army of MAGA followers.”

The Biden administration has labeled President Trump and his supporters as an existential threat to democracy.

In September 2023, America First Legal (AFL) released an explosive report claiming that anti-Trump FBI agents in Washington, D.C. unfairly targeted President Trump’s potential appointees by reporting false, unsubstantiated, and derogatory information to the Senate.

The report outlines how all of President Trump’s candidates for presidential appointments were required to face a “broken” federal background investigation, also known as the FBI’s “BI” process, which violated the Privacy Act and the Paperwork Reduction Act.

“Politically biased agents in the Washington, D.C. field office tanked potential appointees by selectively reporting unsubstantiated, derogatory information while disregarding the mitigation procedures required by the FBI’s Manual of Investigative Operations and Guidelines (MIOG),” AFL reports.

Under Biden’s administration, the Office of Legal Policy at the Department of Justice rescinded the regulations to protect Biden’s appointees from the broken BI process.
