Melania Trump Makes A Campaign Comeback, Set To Hold Fundraiser At Mar-a-Lago

Later this month, former First Lady Melania Trump will host a fundraiser with the Log Cabin Republicans at her husband's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida. The event, which will take place on April 20, will be the first campaign event that Melania has partaken in this year after her lengthy absence from the campaign trail.

The Log Cabin Republicans describe themselves as "LGBT Republicans and straight allies who support equality under the law for all, free markets, individual liberty, limited government, and a strong national defense." The group previously awarded Melania Trump an award in 2021 during a dinner at the Mar-a-Lago resort, per Politico. The fundraiser, which is being organized by Saul Fox, Elizabeth Ailes, Deborah Magowan, Amanda Schumacher, Bill White, Bryan Eure, and Richard Grenell, will be the kickoff event for the organization's "Road to Victory" program as the organization works to reach out to voters in battleground states.

Melania's return to the campaign was foreshadowed by the former first lady when she joined her husband to vote in the Florida Republican primary last month. When asked by the press whether she would return to the campaign trail, she said, "Stay tuned," as previously reported by the DC Enquirer.

While Melania is stepping up her fundraising game, her husband is hosting a $43 million joint fundraiser with the RNC in Palm Beach on Saturday. The fundraiser's success is largely due to Trump's initiative, with the Republican leader reportedly calling up fellow billionaires to encourage them to donate to the Save America PAC. Wall Street billionaire John Paulson will host the fundraiser, featuring an "Inaugural Leadership Dinner" selling tickets as high as $824,600 for a seat at President Trump's table. In addition to Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump being in attendance, the event will also include former presidential candidates Vivek Ramaswamy (R-OH), Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND), and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC).

"This event is greatly exceeding expectations and shows the Republican Party is united behind President Trump," a source familiar with the fundraiser told Axios. The massive fundraiser is expected to be a major boon for the Trump campaign, which has begun to close the campaign cash gap between Trump and Biden. One of the main ways campaign strategists Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles are attempting to catch up is by closely monitoring the campaign's finances and holding fewer rallies that can cost as much as $500,000 each, as reported by Bloomberg

The change in strategy has already seemed to pay off as the RNC pulled in a record breaking amount of cash in March. As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Trump and the RNC were able to raise $65.6 million and ended the month with $93.1 million on hand to fund Trump's presidential campaign. Trump's March fundraising numbers dwarf his previous donation numbers, with Trump raising $9 million in January and $20 million in February.
