Newt Gingrich: The Latest Trump Indictment Is 'The Greatest Constitutional Crisis' Since The Civil War

On Monday evening, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich joined Fox News' Sean Hannity to discuss the recent indictment brought by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis against leading Republican presidential candidate and 45th President Donald Trump and his allies.

"I think what you are seeing tonight is one tree in a forest," Gingrich began. "We are drifting towards the greatest constitutional crisis since the 1850s and the rise of succession and the civil war. I don't mean that as hyperbole."

"If you read Andy McCarthy's remarkable book, 'Ball of Collusion,' which came out in 2019, he makes it very clear that it is Barrack Obama who corrupts the Justice Department, it is Hillary Clinton who routinely breaks the law and gets away with it, and now we have Joe Biden who has learned," the former speaker said. "He's learned from Obama that it doesn't matter what you do, if you're a liberal Democrat you will not be prosecuted."

"He learned from Hillary that a person in high public office can get millions and millions of dollars and they learned from watching Donald Trump that a true outsider, willing to take on the entire system, can destroy their entire machine," he said. "So what you are seeing across the country is a desperate, last-ditch effort by a corrupt machine to destroy their most dangerous opponent in a way that not only breaks the Constitution, destroys the rule of law, and establishes a moment of bitterness which I think will last for a generation or more."

"This is going to be a horrendous period and we just need to understand, the people who want to control America and dictate to the rest of us will dictate any law, lie about any topic, and manipulate the system in any way they can and that includes a lot of the elite news media," Gingrich concluded.

Gingrich is right. The leading Democrats have utilized their power to corrupt the American justice system and used their office to accumulate wealth and power for themselves. Their attempt to take Donald Trump out of the 2024 race through lawfare goes to show that the leading Republican candidate's chances of winning against Joe Biden are stronger than ever.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Gingrich himself pointed out in an interview with Megyn Kelly that Trump will likely bring a Republican wave election next year.

"He will turn out a tidal wave of voters who are deeply alienated by what they see as corruption in Washington and as economic disasters. And I suspect we will win the Senate and increase the number of seats pretty dramatically in the House," the former representative said.

"I think his first year will be astonishing, and think people will be amazed how much he can get done, how big a team he can assemble," Gingrich said. "And, frankly, barring some enormous change, he is the most likely person to be the next president of the United States, something only Grover Cleveland ever achieved — being president, losing, and coming back ... Right now, the numbers are so overwhelming, Republicans ought to start focusing on how to beat [President Joe] Biden because I think at a practical level, they have a nominee, and his name is Donald Trump."

Hopefully, President Trump will have the opportunity to actually voice his vision of America to the public on the campaign trail but if the Democrats get their way, he will be forced to run from behind bars.
