According to a new book, Former President Barack Obama had a troubling relationship with his future VP pick, President Joe Biden, even back during his days in the US Senate, when the former President represented Illinois and the current President represented Delaware.

The Long Alliance: The Imperfect Union of Joe Biden and Barack Obama‘, written by New York magazine author Gabriel Debenedetti, covers the up-and-down relationship of Obama and Biden.

As the Daily Mail reports: “In their early days Obama thought that Biden was ‘condescending’ and rambled on so much he once told an aide: ‘Shoot. Me. Now.’…

The lack of faith in Biden went so far that Obama thought about replacing him with Hillary Clinton as his running mate in 2012 because he thought it would boost his chances of reelection.”

The Daily Mail also reports Joe Biden offended Obama when the Illinois Senator first arrived in D.C. in 2005:

“Biden did however want to get to know Obama and offered to get dinner at a simple Italian restaurant on Capitol Hill – ‘nothing fancy’ as he put it. But Obama said that ‘we can go to a nice place, I can afford it.’ Biden was taken aback and ‘detected more than a hint of arrogance and a hefty serving of presumptuousness.’ The meeting ended on a ‘sour and uncomfortable note’ with no dinner scheduled.”

And the sparks kept on flying. Obama also reportedly told his advisor David Axelrod, “Joe Biden is a decent guy but man, that guy can just talk and talk. It’s an incredible thing to see.”

He also criticized Biden as a member of a “generation of Senators who had ‘overseen Washington’s decline into impracticality,'” as the Daily Mail adds.

We wish Obama had thought more about these extremely relevant criticisms when he picked his running mate in 2008. Obama is one of the worst Presidents in history, but he did double damage by resurrecting the career of an irrelevant Delaware Senator who is currently running our country into the dirt.

Obama has never been known for his taste, but making Vice President Biden a reality is one of the most costly decisions in the history of our great nation. We hope one day he will realize the full extent of the damage he has done to America, damage America First patriots will have to clean up in the years ahead.
