On Monday, authorities confirmed that the body of former President Barack Obama's personal White House chef was found dead by drowning outside of Obama's $11.75 million dollar Martha's Vineyard estate.
Obama's personal chef, 45-year-old Tafari Campbell, was found 8-feet under water about 100 feet from the banks of Obama's property.
Under the Obama administration, Campbell served as the sous chef and later was hired by Obama after his term ended as his personal staff.
Campbell's Instagram page shows he was a talented and proficient swimmer.
"Tafari was a beloved part of our family. When we first met him, he was a talented sous chef at the White House — creative and passionate about food, and its ability to bring people together. In the years that followed, we got to know him as a warm, fun, extraordinarily kind person who made all of our lives a little brighter," the Obamas said in a statement.
Oddly enough, Campbell is not the first White House chef who died by drowning.
In 2015, an autopsy of former White House executive chef under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, Walter Scheib, determined his death to be from drowning.
Scheib's body was found "in a mountain drainage flowing with surface runoff," according to a 2015 CNN report.
Scheib was personally hired by then-former first lady and now-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
