Pete Buttigieg Gets Heated in CNN Interview As Questions on East Palestine Continue, Calling Trump’s Visit ‘Maddening’

The scandalized Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg attempted to redirect some of the widespread scorn he’s been subject to for his belated non-reaction to the East Palestine, Ohio derailment and chemical spill on Sunday.

During a CNN interview, he attempted to ‘clap-back’ at his detractors in conservative media. What doubtlessly appeared to him as a well-reasoned rebuttal merely demonstrated how blithely unaware Buttigieg and the Biden administration have truly become.

“It’s really rich to see some of these folks — the former president [Donald Trump], these Fox hosts — who are literally lifelong card-carrying members of the East Coast elite, whose top economic policy priority has always been tax cuts for the wealthy, and who wouldn’t know their way around a T.J. Maxx if their life depended on it, to be presenting themselves as if they genuinely care about the forgotten middle of the country,” Buttigieg opined.

What appeared lost on him is that in today’s Bidenflation economy, an ever-shrinking demographic can even afford to avail themselves of the clothing chain’s wares.

The secretary, whose only prior experience as mayor of South Bend, Indiana, has proven himself to be conversely ill-equipped or unequipped to address the transportation concerns of 331.9 million Americans, (a bit of a step up from driving, parking and mass-transit concerns of the 103,353 or so denizens of South Bend.)

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) tweeted, “Pete Buttigieg is WILDLY UNQUALIFIED to be Secretary of Transportation. And Biden’s FAA nominee knows nothing about aviation safety. It’s stunning & dangerous. #Verdict”

Many outlets and the former president himself suggested that Buttigieg only decided to respond to the disaster following Trump’s timely visit to deliver humanitarian aid and take in the concerns of the community. The Secretary claimed “That’s bull—-,” telling the sympathetic left-leaning outlet “We were already going to go.”

He continued to call it “somewhat maddening,” that the former president would visit the community “and then show up giving out bottled water and campaign swag,” after he eased environmental and rail regulations during his tenure.

Buttigieg forwarded this blatantly false claim even after it was soundly debunked by his subordinate the Chair of the National Transportation Safety Board Jennifer Homendy. Homendy told CNN on February 24th that the accident was “100 percent preventable” and confirmed that regulations removed by Trump wouldn’t have prevented the derailment.
