REED COOPER: You Just Can't Stump The Trump

As New Hampshire's state primary rapidly approaches, the American people are once again witnessing a phenomenon that has withstood the test of time - you just can't stump President Donald John Trump.

So far, Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND), Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy (R-OH), all former 2024 Republican presidential candidates, have proven you just can't stump Trump by all dropping out and endorsing him. Former Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) dropped out, just like he did in 2016, and admitted in a leaked audio tape that the remaining Republican opponent to Trump, Nikki Haley, is going to "get smoked" by the leading Republican candidate. This phenomenon of candidates who once believed they had a chance at stopping Donald Trump only to then drop out isn't new. In 2016, Donald Trump successfully defeated 16 Republican primary opponents and even defeated the establishment's chosen candidate, Hillary Clinton, by an electoral landslide.

There is something different, though, from the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections. Donald Trump has become even more powerful, winning by margins never before seen in the history of the United States. In Iowa's caucus, Trump made history as the first-ever Republican or Democrat presidential candidate to win the Iowa caucuses with a majority of the vote despite below-freezing temperatures. The last time a candidate came close to winning the majority was in the 1984 Democrat caucus when Walter F. Mondale won 49 percent of the vote. Even the mainstream media's polls are now showing beating President Joe Biden by a landslide.

In a November NBC News poll that showed Trump beating Biden with 46 percent, NBC's 'Meet The Press' host, Kristen Welker, said while covering the poll, "This is significant because this is the first time in the history of our poll that former President Trump beats President Biden." According to the latest Harvard CAPS-Harris poll conducted from January 17-18, Trump is set to beat Biden by an 11-point landslide with 42 percent compared to Biden's 31 percent.

Voters from groups that Biden reportedly won handily in 2020 have all bailed on the elderly Democrat by huge numbers in support of President Trump. An October Emerson College poll revealed Trump was leading among voters under the age of 30 by 47 percent to Biden's 45 percent. In 2020, for comparison, Biden reportedly beat Trump among young voters by 24 points. According to a new poll from Siena College released on Monday, Trump is beating Biden among New York Hispanic voters, with 42 percent to Biden's 39 percent.

"You Can't Stump The Trump" is truly a phenomenon that will always withstand the test of time.
