Kennedy was recently found to poll well with both Democrats and Republicans alike, according to a Rasmussen Reports survey. RFK even scored well among independent voters but Democrats as a whole still prefer Biden as the Democratic presidential candidate. Steve Bannon also made comments two weeks ago on ‘The Charlie Kirk Show,’ praising RFK going after the deep state, and calling a unity ticket between Trump and Kennedy “insurmountable.” Bannon said that the ticket could bring over many populists on the left and bring them onto the Trump ticket.
Kennedy has pushed much of his campaign as being a middle-ground candidate, recently tweeting on how you can advocate for immigration while also being in support of closing the border. Kennedy tweeted “America should be a haven of freedom and prosperity, open to law-abiding migrants who will contribute to our society. However, immigration must proceed in an orderly, lawful manner. Right now we have chaos at the border. Human trafficking, criminality, and intolerable stress on border states like Texas. It is a humanitarian nightmare.”

Many will see the announcement as a shame, but ultimately it is better to have both RFK and Trump run with someone they feel they can properly work alongside.
