Top Hollywood actors and progressive billionaire George Soros have combined to dump millions of dollars into Stacey Abrams’ gubernatorial campaign for the midterms this Fall, in an effort to unseat Georgia’s current Republican Gov. Brian Kemp.
Democracy PAC — which Soros reportedly put $125 million into for races in the upcoming November elections — gave two separate donations to Abrams’ campaign worth $1 million and $1.5 million each — for a total of $2.5 million, according to public filings.
Other celebrities on the list included actor Leonardo DiCaprio who gave $25,000, “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston who gave $10,000, Producer J.J Abrams and Director Stephen Spielberg who gave $50,000 a piece, and Melinda Gates who gave a whopping $200,000 — among others.
Her PAC, “One Georgia” reported over $12 million in fundraising for a two-month period that ended late last month.
Abrams, who unsuccessfully ran for governor against Kemp in 2018, has advocated for measures like mail-in voting and ballot drop boxes, which were recently declared “illegal” in another key swing state of Wisconsin.

She also went on record last year about GOP efforts to push bill SB 241 in Georgia — which would have included measures like ending the right to vote by mail without having to provide an excuse and other new ID requirements — as “racist” and “a redux of Jim Crow,” according to The Guardian.
This fundraising news also comes less than a week after Kemp went after Abrams publicly, when it was disclosed she was paying for private security protection while supporting the “defund the police” movement.
“Despite being the faces of the far-left movement demonizing police across the country, even the Squad falls short of Stacey Abrams’ double standard,” Kemp told Fox News in an exclusive statement on Wednesday.
“Abrams champions – and continues to profit from – the ‘Defund the Police’ movement, while also paying more than her liberal pals in Congress for private security,” he continued. “Abrams’ dangerous agenda and outrageous hypocrisy put herself ahead of the safety and security of Georgia families.”
