'Sound Of Freedom' Brings In Massive Haul Of Over $85 Million As The Movie's Message Spreads Across America

The hit new film by Angel Studios, 'Sound of Freedom', has won big in its second weekend with $24.7 million which is leaps and bounds over its first weekend's earnings, showing that the word of mouth in favor of the movie is catching fire across the country.

The film has, as of this report, grossed over $85 million, per Box Office Mojo. That success is likely due to a number of factors but the fact that the movie has made more money on its second weekend than its first goes to show that 'Sound of Freedom' is just getting started.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the movie is about the real-life child sex trafficking ring that exists throughout Latin America and the United States. The movie itself is based on the true story of Tim Ballard, a former CIA agent, who becomes frustrated only capturing people who watched child pornography in the United States and not catching those responsible for making the evil product.

The film has garnered increased attention thanks to multiple public figures coming out to promote the film including Mel Gibson and 45th President Donald Trump.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the leading Republican candidate announced that he would be hosting a showing of the film on July 19th at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey alongside the producers and stars.

“President Donald J. Trump, 45th President of the United States of America, will host a screening of the film Sound of Freedom at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster on July 19, 2023. The screening will be attended by club members and supporters,” a statement from Trump’s campaign announced on Thursday.

“Sound of Freedom grossed $41.7 million in the first week of its release and opened at No. 1 in Texas, Florida, and Arizona theaters," the statement explained. "The feature has taken the nation by storm, beating out Disney’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny in July 4th movie ticket sales despite appearing in far fewer theaters, securing the top position in the box office for the day."

“The film, which is being distributed by Angel Studios, was produced by Mexican filmmaker Eduardo Verástegui and stars Jim Caviezel,” the statement reads, adding, “Verástegui who was previously appointed a member of President Trump’s Advisory Commission on Hispanic Prosperity and who has continuously advocated for a strong and vital bilateral relationship between the U.S. and Mexico, emphasized the importance of coming together as a society to address this pernicious evil and eradicate child trafficking,”

Thanks to the film's efforts, millions of Americans are being informed about the reality of child trafficking. The film, which only had a budget of around $15 million, has surpassed expectations and has become more of a movement than anything.
